2024 Junior Show Information

***Junior Ownership: Ownership by a junior exhibitor is required for all registered animals and is established when an animal is recorded and certified on the registration certificate in the name of the junior exhibitor only, or with the junior exhibitor as a co-owner, and with the junior exhibitor’s first and last name appearing on the certificate


Market Steer Breed Show - Ring 1

• Animals in this category will be shown by breed. 

• All breeds - purebred and percentage with papers can participate and be eligible for their own class if they have at least three head arrive at the show. Purebred and percentage breeds will each need at least three head arrive at the show to have their own class. 

• If they do not have three head arrive at the show, they will show in the AOB classes by weight. 

• There will be a weigh in for all Market Steers at a designated time after check in. 

• Each breed will select a breed champion and reserve. At the end of the breed classes, all breed champions and reserve champions will return to the ring to compete for the top five Overall Breed Market Steers.

• The top five Overall Breed Market Steers will be selected. They will receive banners and  cash payouts.


Cross Breed Market Steers & Market Heifers Show  - Ring 1

• Crossbreed Market Steers and Market Heifers will show by weight. They will be weighed at a designated time after check in.

• Steers and heifers will show separately for classes. The top two winners will be  selected from each class and at the end, all top two class winners from the steers and heifers will compete for the top five Overall Market Animals.

• The Top Five Overall will be selected. They will receive banners and cash payouts.


Prospect Steers – Ring 2

Steer must have been born January 1 or later of the current year to qualify 

• Prospect steers will be shown by weight. They will be weighed at a designated time after check in. 

• Classes will be determined by weight. Top two  class winners will be selected from each class. 

• Top two class winners will return to the ring to compete for Top 5 Overall Prospect Steer

•The Top Five Overall will be selected. They will receive banners and cash payouts. 

Heifer Show - Ring 1 and 2

All breeds must have 5 head to have a show. A high percentage and low percentage AOB class will be offered. Commercial heifers will be shown by weight. Please check schedule for weigh in times. No cow calf pairs in the Junior Show. At the conclusion of the junior heifer show all champion and reserve champion heifers from each breed will have the opportunity to complete for top 5 heifers with payouts!
